Our Directors
Our staff members are teachers and graduate students who are committed to our ideals of volunteering and giving back to the community. Rein staff members are always present at each service project. All staff members attend our professional training workshops where the emphasis is placed on the safety and well-being of our teenage volunteers.
| Norman Rein - Norman has personally directed summer programs for teenagers for the past 40 years. He is involved in all Rein staff training and holds a Degree in Management. Norman works with his wife Karen, to plan and organize our Community Service Programs. | ![]() |
Karen Rein – Karen has directed the Project Hawaii program and is instrumental in planning and organizing the program. She has a Masters Degree in Social Work and has directed various Rein programs for the past 16 years. |

| Rich Applebaum– Rich has worked with Rein for the past 26 years and manages the Rein office. He earned a Post-Graduate Degree in the Sciences. Along with his wife Patti and our professional summer office staff, Rich manages the summer communication headquarters. |

| David Hackmeyer – David has worked with Rein for the past 19 years. He earned a Masters Degree in Education and he plans and organizes the Project California program and Project Costa Rica program. |

| Julie Eisenberg –Julie has worked with Rein for the past 14 years. She received her B.A. from the University of Rochester. As Personnel Director for Rein, Julie is responsible for interviewing and placing staff on our community service programs. | ![]() |
| Jared Karson –Jared directed Project California for Rein Community Service this past summer and will once again direct the program in 2012. He has a degree in education and has directed summer programs for the past 12 years. |
