Social Awareness Project : Project California Summer Community Service Program

Social Awareness

Project performed in conjunction with Foodbank of Santa Barbara, Transition House, Casa Esperanza, Art from Scrap

Social Awareness ProjectServe the Santa Barbara community by volunteering with various organizations that help people face the difficulties of life and society on a daily basis. Our volunteers will learn compassion and respect for others as we organize donated food, harvest produce for hungry families at local farms, help maintain a transitional housing facility, work to turn recycled goods into art, and assist the staff at a local shelter. This is a great opportunity to help the community in so many meaningful ways.

  • Community Service participants volunteer with the project for the length of the program, in order to make a lasting impact on the needy of Santa Barbara.
  • Participants volunteer Monday – Friday, four hours per day, for the duration of the program, earning between 60 to 80 hours of Community Service credit.
  • The goal of Project California Community Service is not only to give back to the community but for our participants to also learn and grow through their experiences.
