Group Size
The Project Indiana program accommodates up to 50 participants, which fosters expanded social interactions and friendships within the group during evening activities and weekend excursions. Depending on the specific site, each service project will consist of five to fifteen participants. This enables our teenagers to benefit from small group and one-on-one interaction at the service project.
Accommodations
During the week, Indiana University is our home away from home. Our dormitory is in the heart of campus, allowing close proximity to all of the university’s facilities. Rooms are doubles, with semi-private bathrooms in each hall. Our air-conditioned dorm consists of a TV lounge, game room, laundry facilities, linen service, and outdoor sports facilities.
Meals
During the week, the group eats breakfast, lunch, and dinner together at Wright Place Dining Court. There is always a variety of choices at every meal, including vegetarian options. Enjoy a variety of choices, from healthy entrees to a wonderful salad bar and delicious desserts.
Staff
Our staff members are teachers and graduate students who are committed to Project Indiana’s ideals of volunteering and giving back to the community. Rein staff members are always present at each service project. All staff members attend our professional training workshops where the emphasis is placed on the safety and well-being of our teenage volunteers. Program Leaders are trained in Basic First Aid and CPR.
Transportation
Project Indiana uses professionally driven buses and vans to transfer our participants to their various projects, activities, and weekend excursions. There is no additional fee for transporting participants to and from the airport on arrival in Indianapolis and departure from Indianapolis.
Communication
The Rein Communication Center is available 24 hours per day, 7 days per week throughout the summer. Teenagers are permitted to bring cell phones and will have access to a computer lab during the week to check e-mail.
