Project performed in conjunction with Hoosier Hills Foodbank.
Provide first-hand assistance to the hungry of Monroe County. Hoosier Hills Foodbank collects and distributes surplus food to non-profit organizations, which in turn provide free programs to feed hungry families throughout the area. Our volunteers will sort and package produce in the warehouse, glean fruits and vegetables from a local farm, and tend to the Foodbank’s own organic garden. This is a great opportunity to make a difference in the lives of people in need.
- Community Service participants volunteer with the same project for the length of the program, in order to create meaningful bonds between our volunteers and those they are helping.
- Participants volunteer Monday – Friday, four hours per day, for the three weeks of the program, earning a total of 60 hours of Community Service.
- The goal of Project Indiana Community Service is not only to give back to the community but for our participants to also learn and grow through their experiences.
